AFFC

AFFC, Hong Kong’s primary air cargo logistics hub adjacent to the airport, manages complex freight operations with tight deadlines. The brief calls to design an intuitive dashboard app for drivers to easily book and pay for the cargo spot.

I designed a unified dashboard that transforms operational complexity into clarity. Through strategic information hierarchy, modular components, and visual status systems, the platform enables freight professionals to monitor shipments, prioritize urgent tasks, and manage logistics efficiently.

Research, iterations and background treatment
Research, iterations and background treatment

Through interviews with freight coordinators whose demographic is mostly male 40+ age, I identified the need for simple navigation rather than detailed reading. The design featured a color-coded status hierarchy and bold typography enabling priority scans. Reflecting AFFC logo's shape language and core colors, Iteration 1,2,3 uses 2 core grey colours from the interiors of AFFC headquaters. Utilizing sharp diaganole lines from AFFC logo and modular layout, the iterations showcases the visual possibilties within the brand guidelines. Iteration 1 extends the core colors into different levels of brightness, creating a gradual deph. Iteration 2 focuses using the core colors to outline modular layout. Iteration 3 uses image which treated with blur to blend into the 2 core grey colors.

Further iterating the design based on itereation 3, iteration 4 uses a new image provided by the client reflecting it's newly painted color from their building exterior. UI feedback also includes using rounded corners in menus and buttons for a friendly and smooth interface experience. Based on the feedback, I've updated the layout with 3 colour coded icons to ensure a clear visual user feedback when navigating the dashboard.
